About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Safeguarding Officer to join our team. Working with the Deputy Headteacher & Safeguarding Lead ( DSL) you will take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection ( including online safety).  You will participate in discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of children, advising and supporting other members of staff on child welfare, safeguarding and child protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.

Our school ambition focuses on developing a culture whereby all students can achieve highly and will be supported whatever their background or ability.  This relies on providing learning and teaching of the highest possible quality to engage, enthuse and motivate. At TGS we do not limit our definition of achievement simply to traditionally academic pursuits.

As part of the STAR Multi-Academy Trust, TGS provides a high-quality learning community that inspires and motivates its employees as well as its students. Thus we are seeking a candidate who wants to make a positive difference to the lives of young people and has a commitment to lifelong learning in order to be an outstanding member of our team.  We support colleagues who are ambitious for their own professional development, have a ‘can do’ attitude, are creative problem solvers and work collaboratively.

We offer a range of extensive opportunities, incentives and benefits to staff including:

  • Access to STAR MAT’s employee benefits website with discounts on retailers, holidays, days out and so much more…
  • Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for a range of free and confidential advice with a range of support materials available
  • Continuous training and development opportunities

The  STAR Multi Academy Trust  prides itself on the work that it does supporting young people and welcomes all applications. Visit the website here for access to our recruitment policies.

The STARMAT is committed to equality, and to making fair and equitable treatment an integral part of everything we do. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The post is subject to a successful DBS check and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before an appointment is confirmed.

At STAR we believe that diversity and inclusion are integral to our success. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

We actively seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We celebrate the unique contributions of each team member and are dedicated to fostering a culture of equality, where differences are not only embraced but are seen as a source of strength.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in our policies, practices, and the way we do business. We strive to ensure that our recruitment processes are fair, unbiased, and inclusive, and we are continuously working to improve them.

We understand that diversity drives innovation and creativity, and we are dedicated to building a diverse team that reflects the communities we serve.
