About this Role

Canon Popham C of E Primary Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking L3 Teaching Assistant.

The role will be working under the guidance of the teaching staff to support access to learning for pupils. Assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, including support for individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCP’s). This will include the preparation of resources / equipment.  Working with pupils, supporting their learning and leading interventions which will be carried out in or out of the classroom.

We seek to appoint a committed and motivated Teaching Assistant to support our teaching team.  The successful candidate will support the children and the school’s mission and vision.  

They will:

  • Be supportive of the Christian Ethos
  • Have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to form positive relationships with children and adults
  • Have experience of working with children across the Foundation and primary age range
  • Have excellent early literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be highly motivated and hard-working and be flexible and adaptable to children’s needs
  • Have the ability to support pupil learning and be committed to achieving the early learning goals
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Have the ability to recognise and identify children’s needs, including barriers to learning, and be able to provide appropriate learning experiences.
  • Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification is desirable

The post requires the successful candidate to work Monday to Friday from 8.30-3.30pm and will include a 30 mins unpaid lunch break.
