Kings Oak Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support teaching and learning by supervising classes during teacher absence and working closely with staff to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of education, supporting pupils’ progress, and promoting high standards of behaviour and engagement across the school.

We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed Cover Supervisor, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across the Academy. The successful candidate will work alongside the education team assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

·       Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged

·       Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage classroom behaviour effectively

·       Support pupils across a range of abilities, including those with SEND and additional needs

·       Assist teachers with preparation of resources, marking, and monitoring pupil progress

·       Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and a safe learning environment

·       Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development

·       Liaise with staff, parents/carers, and external professionals as required

·       Assist with exam invigilation, trips, and wider school activities

0Please note that the role does involve some regular physical activity e.g. restrictive physical interventions, interacting with students through paly on the floor and responding promptly to escalated situations.
