Are you an experienced and passionate inclusion leader who believes
every child deserves the opportunity to succeed?
Heworth Grange School is looking to appoint an outstanding Head of
Inclusion & Student Support to provide strategic and operational leadership
of our pastoral, inclusion and intervention provision. This is an exciting
opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring all pupils, particularly those
who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or facing barriers to learning, receive the
support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Working as part of the senior pastoral team, you will lead the
development and delivery of the school's inclusion strategy, driving
improvements in behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and student engagement. You
will oversee specialist inclusion provision, coordinate multi-agency support,
manage complex pupil cases and lead a dedicated team of pastoral and inclusion
staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing
strategic leadership for inclusion across the school.
- Leading and
developing our pastoral, intervention and inclusion provision, including
the Innovation Centre.
- Supporting
vulnerable pupils through targeted intervention and personalised support
programmes.
- Working
collaboratively with the SENDCO, safeguarding and attendance teams to
remove barriers to learning.
- Leading
reintegration programmes following suspension, alternative provision or
extended absence.
- Building
strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies to secure
the best outcomes for young people.
- Line managing
Heads of Year, the Attendance Manager, Innovation Centre Manager and other
pastoral staff.
- Using
behaviour, attendance and intervention data to evaluate impact and drive
continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Significant
leadership experience in inclusion, pastoral care, behaviour or student
support.
- A strong
understanding of safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and SEND.
- Experience of
supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
- Excellent
leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability
to inspire teams, build positive relationships and lead change.
- A genuine
commitment to inclusion, equity and improving life chances for every
student.
