About the role
The Assistant Head works with the Executive Headteacher, Head of School and members of the leadership team to assist in the leadership, organisation and management of the school. This is a non-class based role with some teaching responsibilities.
Key aspects of the role include:
• Raising the quality of teaching, learning and curriculum provision across the school
• Supporting and developing teachers to become excellent teachers
• The leadership, management and organisation of key aspects of provision
• Leading performance management to raise standards of teaching and learning throughout the school
• Leading at least one core subject area
• A member of the school leadership team
•Taking responsibility for the school in the absence of the Executive Headteacher and/or Head of School.
