About this Role

We require an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our team. You must be an excellent classroom teacher, passionate about Science and able to deliver high quality and impactful lessons.

Developing students for a lifelong love of all things scientific

The faculty vision is to foster curious, passionate, knowledgeable scientists through both the taught curriculum and extracurricular activities. As a result students will be able to critically engage with core scientific concepts and questions, investigative skills, and the historical context of science in the curriculum and beyond.

Science is popular with our students with large numbers choosing to take Triple Science at GCSE and continuing on into A level.

The successful candidate must be able to teach all Science specialisms across the ability ranges at KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of KS5 teaching for the right applicant. Due to the wide range of experience in the team we welcome applicants from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

What Ashton Park School will offer you:

A school with excellent outcomes where staff are happy and valued

A commitment to your well-being with 14% PPA

A team of skilful Science specialists who are passionate about their subject

Ashton Park is growing great learners, great leaders and a great community

Ashton Park is an inclusive and oversubscribed school, with over 1200 students, set in the beautiful grounds of Ashton Court Estate in Bristol. Our school is in the top 3% of most improved schools in the country when you compare our 2024 GCSE results with those pre-pandemic. In October 2022, Ofsted graded us ‘Good’ in all areas, and we are proud they recognised that: ‘Pupils are happy to attend Ashton Park School. They enjoy their lessons and the range of opportunities the school provides for them. Staff know pupils well and want the best for them.’ The report also commented that ‘lessons are purposeful and learning is rarely interrupted by poor behaviour.’

We are on a journey to excellence and have a mission to grow great learners, great leaders and a great community.

Through our Growing Great Learners framework, we guide and support staff to become excellent teachers, but we also give freedom and autonomy to allow practitioners to be the teacher they want to be in the classroom. We are committed to growing great leaders by providing high quality CPD and focusing on well-being in all the decisions we make. We are growing a great community by ensuring we focus on students, parents and the wider community through our strong culture and ethics.  This is an exciting school to be a part of, one that prides itself on providing a happy and supportive environment for both students and staff.

We wish you the very best of luck with your application and hope to meet you soon!
