United in
Diversity, Inspired for Life: Longthorpe Primary Academy is a wonderful,
multi-cultural school with a passion for creating independent, conscientious
and successful learners who will thrive in their future both in the world of
work and as a positive member of society. Our learners will contribute to
improving the world at differing levels developing into empathic, global
citizens, who collaborate effectively through strong communication skills that
will enable them to share and deepen their understanding around real world
issues, with the hope of making it a better place. Our children will be
effective learners; articulate, literate and numerate. They will be
confident, independent thinkers who have a good sense of self-worth and belief
in their own capacity to succeed. They will take risks with their
learning so the fear of failure does not limit their learning capacity.
Children at Longthorpe will develop a strong sense of responsibility for their
own learning, holding high aspirations of themselves, their achievements and
futures. They will be effective collaborators with a good range of
communication and leadership skills, giving them the ability to clearly
articulate their ideas and emotions, as well as consider those of others. We
aim to provide all children with a safe, happy and nurturing learning
environment, and we foster a strong home school partnership.
As a member of our Academy Committee, you will serve as a volunteer to provide support and challenge to the Headteacher in ensuring high quality education provision for all learners, focusing on the four key areas of standards, safeguarding, special educational needs and stakeholders as delegated by the Keys Academies Trust board of trustees.
Please read the attached 'GUIDANCE FOR GOVERNANCE CANDIDATES' before completing the application.
