About this Role

Join Greenacres Primary School as a Year 1 Class Teacher
Inspire curiosity. Build foundations. Shape bright futures

Hours: 27.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent Time Time Only: 39 weeks per year Start Date: 23rd February or 13th April 2026 Actual Salary: MPS 1–6

About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who loves working with young learners at this exciting and formative stage of their education?

We are seeking an inspirational Year 1 Class Teacher to join our warm, inclusive and ambitious school community at Greenacres Primary Academy. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a key transition point in children’s learning — helping them move confidently from the Early Years into Key Stage 1.

You will join a supportive, collaborative staff team who value professional learning, teamwork and a shared commitment to giving every child the very best start. Whether you are an ECT or an experienced teacher, you will be supported, developed and encouraged to grow.

Who You Are
We are looking for a teacher who will:

  • Put pupils first and secure strong outcomes for all learners

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for high-quality teaching and learning

  • Have high expectations and inspire children to achieve their very best

  • Be reflective, resilient, optimistic and open to new ideas

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

  • Enjoy working collaboratively and sharing best practice

You will be someone who believes in developing the whole child — academically, socially and emotionally — and who wants to prepare children with the confidence, curiosity and skills they need for the future.

What We Offer

At Greenacres, part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we believe that great schools are built on strong relationships, shared values and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Here’s what we offer:

  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive school culture

  • A collaborative staff team who value learning from one another

  • High-quality CPD and development opportunities across the Trust

  • Fully supported induction for Early Career Teachers

  • Clear pathways for career progression and leadership development

  • Early salary access scheme

  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support

  • Local Government Pension Scheme and national terms and conditions

As part of Maritime Academy Trust, you’ll also benefit from being part of a wider family of schools who share best practice, collaborate regularly and support one another to continually improve.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re excited by the opportunity to inspire young learners, work within a caring and ambitious team, and help shape the future of our children — we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed — please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

Apply now via My New Term — we may interview and appoint as applications are received, so early applications are encouraged.

Greenacres Primary School and the Maritime Academy Trust embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and online checks in line with safeguarding guidance.
