About this Role

Together with our community, we can achieve extraordinary things.

Inspire our children and young people to make goals and plans that challenges their potential to be their best.

Develop the knowledge, skills, and “tools” our children and young people need to achieve their goals.

Nurture and empower our children and young people to have the confidence and resilience to achieve their goals and succeed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Reception Assistant to join our dedicated team.  This is a key role within the Academy, ensuring the smooth running of the reception while delivering a warm, professional first impression to all visitors.

The Academy’s office sits at the heart of the school and is a busy, welcoming and highly supportive environment.  You will work as part of the high functioning administration team, under the direction of the Office Manager and working closely with our Attendance Team, creating a collaborative and well-connected wider office function.  The main reception is positioned at the front of the Academy, acting as the central point of contact for students, families and visitors.  Behind this, the main office and reprographics area provide a well-organised workspace for the wider team, supporting efficient communication and the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

Together, we take great pride in delivering a friendly, professional and efficient service that reflects the values and ethos of Appleton Academy.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a professional, friendly and welcoming first point of contact
  • Confidently handle enquiries and resolve issues
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Communicate effectively, including in sensitive situations
  • Have strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Manage confidential information accurately and responsibly
  • Maintain school systems and records in line with requirements
  • Follow policies and procedures consistently

In return, we can offer:

  • A supportive and dedicated leadership team
  • A positive, inclusive working environment
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Permanent contract (after successful probation)
  • On-site parking
  • Free use of the school gym
