About this Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

You may have already guessed that we are looking for even more teaching and learning experts at Ormiston NEW Academy. Teaching and indeed inspirational teaching is at the heart of what we are doing here and our Principal has a five-year vision of transformation. If you are passionate and committed to transforming the lives of students, then we want you to join us.

Ormiston NEW Academy caters for 11 to 19-year olds, with 1063 students on roll. We provide a vibrant learning environment with first-class facilities and we have been graded Ofsted 'Good'. We are a school based on a clear and defined pedagogical model and explicitly taught behavioural norms. This is creating a place of joy, industry and excellence that is rapidly growing. The latest inspection report praises the school’s leaders for creating a "culture where positive behaviour and discipline are celebrated". It says that NEW Academy is a “vibrant school”, that students “enjoy coming to” and where they are “safe”. Students at NEW Academy understand that they must try their best and strive for excellence at all times.  During most recent Ofsted inspection one student told inspectors, “I know that today will not be my best, because tomorrow will be better”.

Standing out from the crowd in the education sector, amongst so many bold claims and buzz words, is difficult but we think you'll be interested in the way we do things here. Our thoughtful approach, driven by your expertise, ensures that we are creating the best opportunities for young people. So, come and visit us, challenge us, talk to us. We're good at listening and we’re relentless in wanting the best for our students, staff and extended community.

Why work for Ormiston?

Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.

We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, your work will have purpose and meaning
