The Role

We are seeking a passionate and ambitious Deputy Head of Science to support the leadership of our successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated teacher ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

Working closely with the Head of Science, you will help drive outstanding teaching and learning, support curriculum development, and ensure excellent outcomes for all students.


Key Responsibilities


Support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Science Department

Lead on curriculum planning and development across Key Stages 3 and 4

Monitor and raise student attainment and progress

Coach and develop colleagues to improve teaching practice

Promote high standards of behaviour and engagement in Science lessons

Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

A strong track record of excellent classroom practice

Experience of leading or supporting a curriculum area

High expectations for student achievement and behaviour

The ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff

Strong organisational and communication skills
