About this Role

Hatchell Wood is a large, and growing, primary school in Bessacarr, Doncaster with just over 400 children on roll. Staff strive to promote an inclusive, child centred approach to education, where all children enjoy their learning which allows them to thrive and therefore meet their full potential.

Are you a dynamic, motivating, creative and enthusiastic teacher? The Headteacher and Governors of this thriving and good school are looking to appoint a teacher to cover a long-term staff absence in Year 5.  Applications from early career teachers are warmly welcomed and there is a strong ECT support network as part of the school and also the Trust.

In February 2022, the school had a successful Ofsted Section 5 Inspection and is looking to further improve on the strengths and area for improvement from the report.

Some of the key phrases from the report;

• This school is rightly proud of the caring and nurturing environment it provides for its pupils.

• Leaders are ambitious in what they believe all pupils can achieve. Pupils blossom under these expectations.

• The curriculum is ambitious and planned logically from Reception to Year 6

• Staff have high expectations for all pupils.

• The commitment to the personal development of pupils is a considerable strength of the school.

We are part of the Rose Learning Trust (RLT), a local group of schools working collaboratively together for the children. There are many opportunities for networking, CPD and career progression within the trust https://www.theroselearningtrust.co.uk

We can offer you:

• A very welcoming, caring school ethos, where every child matters

•  A supportive working environment with team planning and enthusiastic, hardworking colleagues.

• High quality continuous professional development, including opportunities to develop leadership skills

• A full induction process and support

• Friendly, honest and hardworking children

• A caring and skilled staff team with a good sense of humour and realism!

We require a person who:

• Is an excellent classroom practitioner and is committed to achieving the highest standards

• Is confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Has high expectations of children, colleagues and themselves

• Has a passion for education and raising the achievement of all children

• Has a commitment to wider school and community priorities

• Is able to contribute towards the development of the school

Additional training in all areas will be available for the successful candidate.  Please refer to the job description and person specification for full details of duties, training and experience.
