Can you lead with responsibility, creating a culture where every child feels safe, supported and ready to thrive?

If so, Queen Katharine Academy would love to hear from you!

Your role:

As Pastoral Year Lead, you will play a pivotal role at the heart of the Academy, shaping students’ daily experiences and helping to build a calm, inclusive and aspirational environment. Working alongside a committed pastoral team and wider staff, you will lead with respect, ambition and responsibility, ensuring every student feels safe, supported and ready to succeed.

You will provide day-to-day leadership of pastoral care for your year group, taking ownership of behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and personal development. As a visible and approachable presence, you will build strong relationships with students and families, track key patterns and implement timely interventions that remove barriers and enable young people to thrive.

With a calm and solution-focused approach, you will support staff in managing behaviour, coordinate targeted support for vulnerable students and work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies. Your strong communication, organisation and safeguarding knowledge, alongside experience in pastoral or student support, will ensure you can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

About us:

You will be part of an inclusive and supportive academy where staff and students thrive together. Our culture is rooted in respect, ambition and responsibility, creating a truly aspirational environment where you are empowered to grow professionally while making a genuine difference to young people’s lives.
