Could you be the reason a student doesn't miss another day?

Do respect, ambition and responsibility shape the way you work?

Are you passionate about helping young people show up, engage and succeed?

If so, Queen Katharine Academy would love to hear from you!

Your role:

As Attendance Officer, you will promote excellent attendance across the academy, helping to reduce persistent absence and lateness while supporting students to achieve their best. You will maintain accurate attendance records, monitor daily attendance processes, liaise with pastoral teams and provide timely information and support to staff, students and parents. You will work closely with families, conducting meetings and home visits where needed, building positive relationships that encourage regular attendance and engagement with learning. You will also support attendance administration, including maintaining records, preparing attendance communications, managing absence procedures and assisting with documentation relating to penalty notices and attendance interventions.

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational abilities and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work accurately with data and systems, and remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations. You will bring experience of working effectively as part of a team, alongside a genuine commitment to supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to education. Strong IT skills, a methodical approach and an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding are essential.
