Our May 2024 Ofsted inspection graded us ‘Good’, reflecting the pace and ambition of our improvement—yet we are far from done. With a brand-new school build beginning in April 2026, this is a truly exciting time to join our community.

About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching that inspires, challenges, and supports students.
  • Plan engaging lessons that promote excellent progress for all learners.
  • Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and overall strategic aims.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing meaningful feedback.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Uphold high expectations for behaviour, conduct, and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school.
  • Play a full role in the wider life of the school, including pastoral duties and extracurricular activities.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic, reflective practitioner with a real commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and relevant degree.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Ability to teach English at KS3 and GCSE.
  • Ability to motivate, enthuse, and challenge pupils.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and equality.
  • Positive attitude, emotional resilience, and professionalism.
  • Experience working with 11–16 age groups.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of current GCSE syllabus developments.
  • Interest in innovation in the classroom.
  • Experience supporting trips, visits, and enrichment.
