Featherby Partnership Schools are seeking a caring, motivated and committed Learning Mentor to join our dedicated team and help make a lasting difference to the lives of our children and families.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning, helping them develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Working closely with teachers, support staff, families and external agencies, you will provide targeted mentoring, pastoral support and guidance to help pupils overcome challenges both within school and beyond. You will build positive relationships, identify individual needs and support children to feel valued, understood and empowered to achieve their very best.

At Featherby, we believe every child has the potential to succeed. This role is central to our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels safe, happy, inspired and ready to learn.

About The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with identified pupils, providing encouragement, guidance and support
  • Deliver individual and small group mentoring sessions focused on wellbeing, confidence, behaviour and overcoming barriers to learning
  • Develop, implement and review personalised support plans that meet individual pupil needs
  • Promote resilience, independence and positive attitudes towards learning
  • Support pupils through key transitions and changes in their educational journey
  • Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external agencies to provide holistic support
  • Contribute to a nurturing and inclusive school environment where every child can flourish

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting children whose learning and wellbeing may be affected by additional challenges
  • Has high aspirations for every child and believes all pupils can succeed and flourish
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Works collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external agencies
  • Has experience supporting children’s social, emotional and wellbeing needs
  • Can motivate and encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence
  • Is skilled at adapting support to meet individual needs
  • Is calm, patient and understanding when supporting children who may face challenges
  • Shares our commitment to creating a vibrant school community built on nurture, excellence and opportunity for all

Experience working in a school, pastoral, mentoring, youth work or family support environment would be desirable
