Still looking for your next SEND role? It’s not too late to join us.

We are still welcoming applications from passionate and dedicated SEND teachers who are ready to make a genuine difference every single day.

Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT developing your SEND expertise) or an experienced practitioner looking for a rewarding new challenge, Featherby Partnership School could be the perfect next step.

We are proud of our inclusive, nurturing community — and we are still recruiting outstanding SEND teachers to join us.

About the Role

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated SEND Teacher to join Featherby Partnership School, part of the Maritime Academy Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils with a range of additional needs, while also contributing to inclusive practice across the wider school.

As a SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging learning sequences aligned to EHCP outcomes and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Use a range of assessment approaches to track, evidence and celebrate small-step progress, adapting teaching in response to need
  • Work closely with therapists and external professionals (SaLT, OT, CAMHS, EP) to embed strategies into everyday classroom practice
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families, ensuring they are actively involved in their child’s learning journey
  • Promote inclusive practice across the school and contribute to staff CPD and professional dialogue
  • Support the development of regulation, behaviour and wellbeing approaches using trauma-informed and child-centred practice

This is a role where every day is different — but every day matters, and every moment of progress counts.

Who You Are

We are looking for a teacher who is:

  • A qualified teacher with a passion for SEND and inclusive education (QTS essential)
  • Experienced, or confident in developing expertise, in supporting pupils with complex needs including autism and SEMH
  • Creative, flexible and skilled at adapting learning to meet individual needs
  • Calm, reflective and resilient, with a strong commitment to trauma-informed practice
  • A confident communicator who builds strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • A collaborative team player who values shared expertise and continuous improvement

What We Offer

At Featherby Partnership School, we are proud to be a warm, nurturing and ambitious community where every child is known and valued. Our inclusive approach is at the heart of everything we do, and staff are supported to grow and thrive professionally.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • A strong Trust network, including specialist SEND expertise across Maritime schools
  • Bespoke, practical CPD delivered through our LearnUpon platform, designed to support busy teachers
  • Opportunities for career progression across Featherby and the wider Maritime Academy Trust
  • Access to high-quality outdoor learning spaces that enhance engagement and wellbeing
  • A comprehensive wellbeing offer including Mental Health First Aiders, Employee Assistance Programme, Wisdom app access, enhanced family leave, eye care vouchers, free flu vaccines and cycle to work scheme
  • Local Government Pension Scheme and national terms and conditions
