Somerlea Park Junior School are seeking to recruit a caretaker. This essential role in our school involves undertaking duties to ensure the safety, security, cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings and grounds. This is an exciting time to join our school as we look forward to moving into a brand new school building in January 2027.
Key duties include site security, carrying out basic repairs and daily caretaking tasks to help keep our learning environment safe and welcoming. The Caretaker is also responsible for reporting any faults which require more specialist help to the appropriate people. An essential part of the Caretaking role involves ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
The successful candidate will have:
- Good DIY skills and knowledge and basic maintenance
- The ability to work independently and have a proactive approach
- Have good communication skills and be a reliable member of the team
- Be able to work successfully as part of the cleaning and maintenance team.
