Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant

Hours: LSA – 27.50 hours per week, TA 2.50 hours per week to cover PPA Monday – Friday, term time only, including 5 inset days.

Contract: Permanent following successful probation period

Salary Scale: LSA – (JG3) £24,790 - £22,183 TA (JG5) - £27,711 - £30,060

Actual salary: LSA (JG3) £17,082 - £17,754 TA (JG5) £1,736 - £1,818

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and qualified Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant with the skills and knowledge to support children in all stages of primary education. To act as an integral part of the school staff team, and as such to contribute to the overall aims of the school, working within agreed policies and procedures and to promote pupil well-being by encouraging them to develop good relationships with others, develop their self –reliance and self-esteem.

The main aim of your role would be supporting the Classteacher, however you would need to be adaptable and confident to lead a class in your year group for PPA each week as well as supporting other classes with PPA and teaching on occasion if the need arose.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

• Holds a TA qualification and has a secure knowledge of primary education.

• Has GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above.

• Is motivated, positive, hardworking and willing to join an enthusiastic team.

• Is able to demonstrate high expectations for learning and behaviour, working within the schools policies and procedures.

• Champions children and puts their needs and well-being at the forefront of the purpose of their role.

• Is professionally discreet and able to respect confidentiality.

• Communicates well with children, colleagues and parents.

• Holds a belief that all children can succeed.
