Closing date: Monday 15th June 9am

Interview date: Friday 19th June 2026

Fonthill Primary Academy is seeking a Nursery Class Teacher to join our warm, inclusive school, where every child is valued and supported to thrive from the very beginning. At the heart of our school, our Nursery offers a nurturing, language-rich environment where children develop confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging. Guided by a carefully designed, research-informed curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on communication, early reading and learning through rich, meaningful experiences.

As we continue to build on our recent progress, this is an exciting time to join Fonthill. We are looking for someone who shares our ambition to give every child the very best start—someone who values inclusion, high expectations and purposeful learning. You would be joining a supportive, forward-thinking team, with access to strong professional development and a shared commitment to helping children grow, achieve and thrive both academically and personally.
Visits to the school ahead of application are encouraged. If you would like to arrange a visit, or a call, please contact Fonthill Primary School directly and ask for Penny Gowie (Assistant Business Manager).
Purpose of the post:
  • To maximise the achievement of all children in your charge
  • To be responsible for these children's safety and welfare
  • To assist in the development of the phase within the school
  • To deliver agreed Teachers Standards and expectations
  • To take on subject leadership responsibility, dependant on experience
What we offer:
  • Enhanced CPD, including access to professional networks across the Trust
  • Paid induction and training suited to the role
  • Confidential access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free parking
  • Use of the Cycle Scheme
  • Paid completion of a DBS check
  • Flu vaccination vouchers
  • Free eye tests (where the employee is desk-based)
  • Where eligible, automatic enrolment to the relevant pension scheme
  • Honouring of continuous service earned in the Local Authority
