About this Role

Due to the promotion of the existing DHT at Thameside we are looking for an aspirational school leader, looking for a deputy headship in a forward thinking and creative school? The post would start 1st September 2026 and will be for a fixed period to at least February 2027. The post is open to Full Time or Part Time interest. You will need to get approval from your existing school to be released for this period of time to be considered.

We are seeking a leader with a clear moral purpose—someone who understands what highly effective primary education looks like and has the talent, insight and determination to work with the whole school community to drive improvement. This role has a particular focus on Inclusion, including Pastoral Care and Behaviour along with expertise in the classroom.

The post will have some elements of teaching (but you would not be designated a class of your own).

We welcome applications from candidates:

  • With a strong vision for inclusive, high‑quality primary education, and the ability to translate that vision into meaningful action
  • Who can inspire, motivate and challenge both children and adults, fostering ambition and high expectations
  • Who can provide effective day‑to‑day leadership, supporting the Head of School through excellent management, communication and decision‑making
  • Who will make a significant contribution to delivering the school’s strategic priorities and long‑term development
