SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 2)

 

Contract Type: Fixed term initially until 31 July 2026, as linked to Higher Needs Funding.

Pay Grade: Grade D3 to D4

Full Time Salary: £24,796 - £25,185

Actual Salary: £14,395.32 to £14,621.15

Hours: 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Starting: April 2026

 

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional Teaching Assistant to work alongside our wonderful team at Cranford CE Primary School in an SEN role working in a 1:1 capacity with children with additional needs. At Cranford, our focus is upon the whole child. We are looking to appoint someone who:

  • Preferably has experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Is enthusiastic, approachable and friendly
  • will ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn,
  • will create a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment
  • will support the teacher in management of pupil behaviour and understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy.
  • is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school.
  • understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct.
  • who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training.
  • understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school.
