PRIESTLEY COLLEGE – Progress Tutor

Contract Type:             Full Time (37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30–4.30, Friday 8.30–4.00), 39 weeks per year.  

Salary:                               £22,421 to £23,960 per annum (Point 7 to Point 10 on the SFCA NJC Support Staff Pay Scale - £25,951 to £27,733 per annum FTE)

Closing Date:               Midday, Tuesday 11th August 2026 

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting students in the applications process by mentoring application quality and Personal Statement writing.
  • Delivering PD sessions.
  • Supporting students in their career and progression planning and advising on how to access guidance on making informed choices.
  • Monitoring the attendance of students in line with college targets, setting improvement targets for students where necessary.
  • Establishing a tutor group identity and a rapport with their individual students. 

What we're looking for

  •         Knowledge of post-16 education and options at 18
  • Awareness of key Safeguarding issues relating to young people.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills  
  • Ability to build strong, professional relationships with students, staff, and families.
