Vacancy for Level 1 Teaching Assistant (1-1 SEN support) at Great Ouse Primary Academy!


Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 4, Point 3-5 £18,705.90 - £19,299.61

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

This is a role with an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of our pupils, working to provide one-to-one and group support and teaching. You will be adapting teaching resources, thinking of new ways to learn, being fun and creative in your approach and adaptable to children's needs. Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued in our school – you will work closely with our SENDCo and SEND team to provide our children with the best possible educational opportunities.  An element of your duties will also include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/class displays.                                                                                                              

The Opportunity

  • Supervise activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all children to reach their potential.
  • Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships.
  • Join a dedicated, enthusiastic team, within a supportive MAT.


The ideal candidate

  • Holds a good educational background with GCSEs or equivalent in English Language and Maths.
  • Has a strong understanding of how children learn.
  • Is skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to develop and sustain positive relationships with pupils.
