Why this role matters:
As Communications & Marketing Lead, you will be the driving force behind how Gesher tells its story—internally and externally. Your work will ensure that our school’s lived experience, successes, and values are consistently visible to current and prospective families, staff, and the wider community. From building our brand presence to multiple stakeholders supporting admissions, fundraising, and staff development, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of Gesher School.
Key Areas & Responsibilities:
1. Capturing the Life of the School
Capture events throughout the year (enrichment activities, trips, lessons, everyday learning moments, candid moments)
Develop systems to ensure consistent content flow
Curate and showcase student work across the school
Ensure each class submits an artefact from their learning journey
Lead on the fortnightly communications of the Gesher Gazette (with school team support)
Showcase Gesher to the wider community as a school of excellence
2. Brand and Visual Identity
Ongoing development of the Gesher brand
Create, design and order branded items aligned with marketing strategy
Ensure all copy across all mediums and platforms is edited, proofed and aligned with Gesher’s voice
3. Strategic Communications & External Representation
Develop a communications strategy with external working parties to ensure Gesher is represented effectively online and in print
Support fundraising and donor communications content
Strengthen admissions messaging and community engagement
Develop and implement a structured external comms plan
4. Digital & Platform Management
Update and edit the website with new content from SLT, admin and social platforms
Ensure consistency across digital channels
Manage alignment between website, socials, print and fundraising messaging
5. Internal Communications & Learning Infrastructure
Develop a strategy with SLT to transform induction and CPD into interactive online courses using Articulate Storyline
Build sustainable, scalable digital induction systems
Support long-term staff development infrastructure
Identify opportunities for students to develop their skillsets and contribute to the marketing strategy where appropriate
Type of Person We’re Looking For:
Creative, proactive, and highly organised
Exceptional storyteller and skilled copywriter
Confident using digital platforms, social media, and content creation tools
Strong eye for design and brand consistency
Warm communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable capturing photography and video
Collaborative, adaptable, and able to work independently as needed
Experience in education, SEND, or non-profit is a strong advantage.
