About the role

Hob Moor Oaks are looking to recruit a pool responder/lifeguard, this position is to work for 16.5 hours per week over 3 days, these hours will be worked during the school term time and is a fixed term contract until July 2026, in the first instance. There will also be the opportunity to take on additional hours to help our during the family swim sessions which are outside of the school day, this can be discussed further during interview stage.

To be successful within this role we are looking for an experienced pool responder/lifeguard who can work well with both the staff team and the children who will be using the hydro pool.

You will be supervising the children both in the hydro pool and at the pool side, supporting classroom staff with general support with the children while in and around the pool.

You will be responsible for ensuring the pool area is clean and tidy, liaising with the pool company with regards to health and safety of the pool and setting up any equipment for planned lessons.

Communication will be key to this role, not only with staff and children but also their families, you will keep up to date records of the children’s activities and achievements in the pool and will understand the importance of safeguarding all children.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
