About this Role

Start Date: As soon as possible

Temporary (end date – July 2025) – 32.5 hours a week (Term Time Only)

About the Role:

As part of the continued development of our provision and the expansion of support for our pupils, we are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and flexible Teaching Assistant to join our team at Heathcote Primary School. In this role, you will work closely with children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing the support they need to thrive in their learning journey.

You will be an integral part of a team that prioritises the well-being, safety, and development of each child. This role requires someone who is adaptable, resilient, and able to respond to the varied needs of our students, always putting the child at the centre of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with SEND in both individual and group settings.
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher to adapt and deliver the curriculum to meet children’s needs.
  • Providing a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported.
  • Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour, social skills, and self-esteem.
  • Monitoring children’s progress and contributing to the development of personalised learning plans.
  • Being an active part of the school’s wider team, working with other staff and external agencies to support children’s development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong child-centered approach with a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Experience of supporting children with SEND (either through training or previous experience).
  • Flexibility and resilience to respond to the dynamic needs of our students.
  • A positive, proactive attitude, with the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and families.
  • A commitment to the values of inclusion, respect, and empathy.
  • Experience of working in an Early Years environment (desirable, not essential).

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, caring, and inclusive school environment.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development.
  • The chance to be part of a team that truly values each individual child.
  • A welcoming and friendly staff team.

If you are someone who is truly dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children, we would love to hear from you.
