Are you an ambitious and passionate teacher ready for a change to work in a forward thinking, ambitious and collaborative school? Do you believe every child deserves to thrive, be challenged and experience the joy of learning mathematics?

At The Coombes Church of England Primary School, we are proud to be a well-attaining, nurturing school set within a truly beautiful and inspiring environment. Surrounded by nature, our setting offers rich opportunities for creativity, exploration and learning beyond the classroom. Our woodland, swimming pool, STEM room and range of strong partners certainly makes our school worth a visit!

We are seeking an exceptional class teacher and aspiring or experienced Maths Lead to join our dedicated and forward-thinking team. This is a unique opportunity to build on our already strong maths provision, shaping the next phase of development with a clear focus on:

  • Deepening challenge for all learners

  • Embedding a mastery approach to mathematics

  • Exploring innovative opportunities for mathematics beyond the classroom, making the most of our exceptional grounds and environment

As Maths Lead, you will play a key role in driving excellence across the school, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that mathematics is engaging, ambitious and accessible for every pupil.

At The Coombes, we offer:

  • values-driven, inclusive Christian ethos at the heart of all we do

  • The opportunity to work alongside high-quality, committed teaching staff within a collaborative and ambitious team

  • Access to subject leader networks, enabling you to work with peers and share best practice across schools

  • High-quality, trust-wide CPD and professional development, including leadership development opportunities

  • Clear career pathways within our academy trust, supporting progression and long-term development

  • Opportunities to engage in regional networks and partnerships, strengthening your professional expertise

  • A chance to make a genuine, lasting impact on pupils’ outcomes and experiences

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils

  • Has a strong understanding of high-quality maths teaching and mastery

  • Is passionate about innovation and continuous improvement

  • Can inspire colleagues and lead with clarity, purpose and enthusiasm

This is more than a job, it is an opportunity to shape the future of mathematics within a school that is ambitious for every child and committed to providing an exceptional start to their educational journey.

We warmly welcome visits to the school so you can experience our unique setting and caring culture first-hand. To arrange a visit please email the Operations Manager, Joanna Hardy, email: operations@coombes.wokingham.sch.uk.

Applications will be considered on receipt.
