About this Role

About this Role

Belleville Wix Academy is a primary school situated between Lavender Hill and Clapham Common, in Clapham/Battersea. We are part of Quality First Education (Q1E), a successful Multi-Academy Trust with five schools across South London. Our school has a unique 'bicultural' ethos as we share our site and work very closely with a French primary school, École de Wix but you don’t need to speak French to work with us. If this sounds like the type of school you would like to work in, we would be delighted to hear from you.

You will support our pupils to access learning, and provide general support to teachers in the management of resources, pupils and the classroom. Your work may include work with small groups or individual pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We are looking for someone who:

  • is committed and reliable;
  • is positive, enthusiastic, flexible, helpful and friendly;
  • has good literacy, numeracy, communication and IT skills;
  • has some experience of supporting or working with children;
  • is interested in education and child development;
  • ideally has some experience of working in a primary school (not essential).

We offer:

  • A varied and interesting teaching assistant role, with lots of room to grow;
  • An exciting, dynamic school with a strong curriculum, high quality teaching, amazing opportunities for children and a relentless drive for excellence and equality;
  • A friendly, supportive staff team;
  • Excellent training, with induction before starting in the classroom, followed by fantastic on-the-job learning and professional development once in the role;
  • Active support for staff who are thinking of becoming a teacher in future.

All posts in Q1E schools are subject to an enhanced DBS with barred list check. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. We may carry out online searches of shortlisted candidates.
