About this Role

Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College is seeking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support (SEND) teamWolfreton is part of The Consortium Academy Trust. About the Role  

We are looking for candidates with a particular interest in supporting students in a subject(s). Candidates with the flexibility and commitment to support students across the subject / age range if and as required.  Join our fantastic Learning Support and subject teams in English, maths, science or humanities. 

As a Teaching Assistant you will provide specific assistance to children with special educational needs, within the school environment and on school outings and to provide general assistance to teaching staff in respect of these students. You will have a clear understanding of the range of difficulties that students present in mainstream schools and to be able to demonstrate suitable strategies which can be implemented to enable these children to fulfil their potential and partake fully in all aspects of the National Curriculum and school life.   

The successful candidate would be responsible for liaising with classroom teachers, and SENDCo and use student information to provide appropriate support for teaching and learning enabling students to make expected progress. You would implement literacy and numeracy support programmes for groups of students and individuals. You would undertake small group/individual teaching for literacy, numeracy and science support, under the guidance of the Learning Support teachers and SENDCo.  

About You 

The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and/or young people with SEN, preferably in a Secondary school environment. Candidates will also be educated to GCSE\Level 2 qualifications in Maths, English and Science. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the range of difficulties that students present in mainstream schools and to be able to demonstrate evidence and knowledge of strategies which can be implemented to enable these children to fulfil their potential and partake fully in all aspects of the curriculum and school life.
