Witheridge C of E Academy is a wonderful primary school
situated in the beautiful North Devon countryside near Tiverton. They are a caring
and happy school with a passion for children's learning and well-being.
As a small school they are able to personalise the learning every child
receives and offer an enriching curriculum. Witheridge C of E Academy currently
has just over 100 pupils who are inspired by high quality teaching coupled with
excellent facilities.
The
appointed person will work in close partnership with the relevant class
teachers and will help to support a pupil, currently in the Foundation Stage
Unit (FSU) to engage with their learning as they undertake their journey
through the school. In service training will be provided where appropriate.
The
successful applicant will ideally have experience of working with younger
children and those who have delayed communication and interaction skills.
Training support will provided for the right candidate to build knowledge
of a Total Communication approach and supporting children to navigate their
social interactions and emotional responses. We will consider all
applicants with appropriate skills, passion and commitment for this important
role. The successful applicant should want to play a full part in the

The role is temporary, linked to EHCP funding, and is subject to
the child’s continued attendance at the school and/or the result of any review
of their special needs.
