About this Role

The Board of Directors of One Excellence Multi Academy Trust are wishing to appoint an experienced primary senior leader who will continue to build and evolve our unique and inspirational place of learning at Pentland Primary School. Directors are looking for an exceptionally talented leader who will use their energy and vision to make a real impact, achieving outstanding outcomes for our pupils and ensuring that the school maintains and exceeds current standards and achievements.

Pentland Primary School lies at the heart of its community, in Billingham. As well as aiming high for their pupils and families, the staff are a warm and welcoming team, who build positive relationships with families, the community and colleagues across the Trust.

Pentland is home to a Local Authority SEMH enhanced provision, a Communication and Interaction ARP and a SEND Unit. This means that the school often has children who have had emotional or social difficulties and past trauma, which can be challenging at times. The staff work tirelessly to support these children and are highly trained in meeting individualised needs to allow all our children to flourish. The school is also a Pathway Development Centre for up to 2 children who have been permanently excluded from elsewhere in Stockton-on-Tees, a result, knowledge and understanding of effective behaviour management, SEND and the nurture approach are vital.

The position will require a teaching commitment, so experience of teaching in Key Stage 2 would be advantageous.

We are looking for a candidate who will:

  • have proven success in school leadership and management
  • be innovative, determined and driven to constantly seek improvement for the children and communities that we serve
  • have the vision and skill to maximize the resources of the school
  • continue to drive improvements in curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment
  • have considerable experience of being a DSL
  • be able to demonstrate highly accurate and effective communication skills
  • have a positive and active approach to cross school collaboration

We can offer:

  • the opportunity to be a senior leader in an improving school as part of a successful Multi Academy Trust
  • a Trust which cares about its staff and keeps the well-being of children at the heart of its work
  • supportive and collaborative colleagues, committed to improving outcomes for its students
  • a highly supportive governance model
  • the support of experienced leaders at all levels
  • access to best practice networks within the Trust
  • the opportunity to support school improvement, in your areas of expertise, across the Trust

One Excellence Multi Academy Trust believes in supporting and investing in its staff and has a structured health and well-being programme. The programme includes physiotherapy, nurse support service and drop-in clinic, counselling, mindfulness sessions, weight management, stress awareness, GP consultations and private medical operations if required.  We are also keen for staff to be able to reach their full potential and offer a range of professional development opportunities in all areas of education, nurturing and leadership.

Disclosure:  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.
