About this Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of History to join our successful and vibrant department within the Humanities Faculty.  Building on the strong foundations established over the years you will bring a fresh, inspiring  vision that continues to elevate the subject within the school.  A key priority will be driving consistency across the department, fostering a collaborative culture to ensure all lessons are engaging, challenging, inclusive and focused on securing the very best outcomes for every student. 

This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic department and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, especially those who are disadvantaged to create a nurturing, student-centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership to ensure high-quality teaching and accelerated student progress.
  • Lead on curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to support continuous improvement.
  • Set and monitor targets for staff and students, ensuring outstanding outcomes.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student achievement.
  • Promote collaborative working within the faculty, across departments, and within The Howard Partnership Trust.
