About the role 

The Performing Arts technician will support the day-to-day running of the performing arts department, providing AV assistance and general administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

Helping with the preparation of practical lessons under the instruction of the Head of Faculty 

Clearing away and cleaning of equipment from lessons

Keeping teaching spaces, storage spaces and music prep rooms clean and tidy

Maintenance and repair of equipment 

Periodic stock checking  

Ensure that work is undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety legislation currently prevailing and that safety checks on equipment take place as and when required 

Liaise with staff regarding equipment orders 

Support with the organisation of Trips, Visits and Events as directed by Head of Faculty 

Support calendared school activities and events

Attend any specific training as required 


Department specific responsibilities 

Technology support in our Music Mac Suite and Recording Studio 

Management of the Mac Suite, Studio and Live Room Training student leaders to be able to record in our Recording Studio 

Overseeing use of practice rooms

Support with peripatetic lesson communication

Preparation of tech materials for music lessons Support in the management on KS4 coursework on Logic Pro X

1:1 support with students when working towards their completion of GCSE Music

Operation of light desk for Drama performances in our drama studio and our school hall

Hands on support for our full school production 

Fulfilment of other tasks, as required and directed by Head of Faculty for Performing Arts 

Contribution to wider school activities as required, including running of extra-curricular clubs where necessary
