Post: Key Stage One Class Teacher (Suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs)
Salary: Main Pay Scale
Contract Details: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Are you a teacher who thrives as part of a small, close-knit school community? Do you believe in an enriching curriculum that hooks children's interest, celebrates achievements, and nurtures the whole child? Then please consider applying to become part of the Wenhaston team!
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join us as a full-time teacher for our mixed Year 1 and 2 class (and yes, it’s rare because our teachers love it here and rarely move on!). Wenhaston Primary School is a thriving small school that truly feels like a family. Nestled in the beautiful village of Wenhaston—just 4 miles from the market town of Halesworth and close to the stunning Suffolk coast—we are a school that sits proudly at the very heart of our local community.
As part of the diverse ASSET Education multi-academy trust, we balance our warm, small-school ethos with excellent professional opportunities, working closely with colleagues across our trust subject and year-group networks.
We welcome applications from enthusiastic, motivated teachers at all stages of their career, whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced practitioner. We want a team player with boundless energy, a caring nature, and a great sense of humour who will put the needs of the children first.
Our ideal candidate will:
Deliver Excellence: Exemplify excellent classroom practice, strong behaviour management, and high expectations that inspire children to achieve great things.
Ignite Curiosity: Facilitate exciting, engaging, and enriching learning opportunities that open children's eyes to new experiences.
Master the Foundations: Possess a secure knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, with proven experience in delivering high-quality phonics and early maths lessons.
Foster Inclusion & Rights: Demonstrate a deep commitment to inclusive practice, tailoring learning so that every child, with their unique needs, can unlock their full potential and find their confident voice.
Live Our Values: Align with our core values of developing resilient global citizens, aiming high for all, and empowering children to become independent, responsible individuals.
Collaborate & Reflect: Be a reflective practitioner who is flexible, adaptable, and eager to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
Eager & Happy Learners: Delightful pupils with excellent attitudes to learning and a joyful approach to school life.
A Supportive Family Culture: A deeply supportive team of colleagues, leaders, and governors who value your wellbeing and emotional development just as much as the children's.
Investment in You: A high-quality induction, excellent continuous professional development (CPD), and coaching opportunities both within the school and across the wider ASSET trust networks.
The Opportunity to Thrive: A workspace that nurtures staff, encourages creative thinking and initiative, and gives you the autonomy to truly make a difference.
If you are ready to inspire big dreams in a small school community, we would love to hear from you. Visits to our school are strongly encouraged and warmly welcomed so you can experience our wonderful family atmosphere firsthand.
To arrange a visit or for further details, please contact the school office.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the job description and will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and children's barred list check, health check, online search and satisfactory references.
