Hall Meadow Primary School is a friendly, welcoming and inclusive school at the heart of the Kettering community and part of the InMAT Trust. We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant with Lunchtime Supervisor duties, who has a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with cognition and communication difficulties.

✨ The Role

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering high‑quality, inclusive learning across the curriculum
  • Work closely with individual pupils and small groups, particularly those with SEN, to help them overcome barriers to learning
  • Provide tailored support for children with cognition and communication needs, promoting confidence, independence and progress
  • Foster positive behaviour, well‑being and strong relationships
  • Supervise and support pupils during lunchtimes, encouraging safe play, social interaction and positive behaviour
  • Contribute to a calm, caring and nurturing school environment throughout the day

  • Has a genuine passion for SEN and inclusion, especially cognition and communication needs
  • Is patient, caring and child‑centred
  • Communicates effectively with pupils, staff and parents
  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and pupil well‑being
  • Has experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided)

About the RoleThis is a varied and rewarding position supporting children across the school. Duties include:

Morning – Internal SEN Provision

You will work within our internal SEN provision, supporting children with communication, cognition and learning difficulties. Your role will include:

  • Providing personalised support to children with diverse SEN needs
  • Helping children access learning in a calm, structured and nurturing environment
  • Working closely with the SENCo and specialist staff to deliver targeted support

Afternoon – Intervention Support

In the afternoons, you will work with small groups across the school, delivering interventions designed to boost:

  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Social communication
  • Confidence and independence

Lunchtime Supervisor Responsibilities

You will also support pupils during lunchtime, helping to maintain a safe, positive and enjoyable environment during their midday break.
