About this Role

KS2 Class Teacher (0.6 FTE) (Maternity Cover)

Burford CofE Primary School is looking to appoint an exceptional teacher for a KS2 class, ideally from 1st June 2026 or 1st September 2026. The job will be a maternity cover until at least April 2027.

We are a nurturing school set in Burford, a growing Shropshire village, separated from the market town of Tenbury Wells (Worcestershire) by the River Teme, which acts as the county boundary.

We empower our staff and support them through our Christian foundations and values. You will be working alongside committed and dedicated colleagues.

As part of the Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust, we work alongside other schools supporting and inspiring both staff and children, allowing us to reach our full potential.

Are you enthusiastic, professional, and committed to nurturing and supporting our children, allowing them to flourish? If so, then we can offer you a team that will support and encourage you.

The school is looking for someone who has:

  • Working knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Up-to-date training and experience of teaching and learning in Literacy and Numeracy (T4W and Mastery Maths an advantage, but not necessary as training will be provided)
  • A vision for achieving excellence and an absolute belief in the potential of all children
  • High expectations of standards in all aspects of school life
  • Good communication skills
  • A good team spirit
  • A well-developed sense of humour

The school and Trust can offer you:

  • The opportunity to work in a happy and vibrant school
  • Well behaved, enthusiastic, and motivated children
  • A talented, dedicated, and supportive team
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Blue Light Card

Please feel free to make an appointment to visit us by contacting the school.

The Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust and Governors are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and will follow our Safer Recruitment Policy.
