About this Role

Role: Interim Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for Behaviour

Location: Pilgrim Primary Academy,  PL1 5BQ

FTE Salary: L5 – L9: £57,418 - £63,443

Contract Type: Temporary from September 2026 until 31st December 2026, at which point you will revert to your previous position.

Working Hours: 32.5 hrs per week

We are looking for an exceptional, caring assistant headteacher to join our happy and dedicated team.  Our ideal candidate will have a desire to improve both academic and personal outcomes and lead outstanding inclusive provision.

 You should be

  •  Able to demonstrate your successful leadership in school improvement
  • Able to work positively in a wider team and to promote effective teamworking in others
  • Approachable and having effective communication skills
  • Experienced in monitoring the effectiveness of teaching on the outcomes for learning
  • Able to manage the performance of others, including having the skills to coach and mentor colleagues
  • Experienced in teaching across the Primary age range
  • An outstanding teacher with expert knowledge of quality first teaching and learning and the national curriculum
  • Committed to inclusion and raising standards for all learners and dedicated to promoting parental and community involvement
