About this Role
We are seeking to appoint a full time, (32.5 hours / 5 days per week), 39 Weeks (Term Time plus 1 Week), Fixed Term, Teaching Assistant / 1-1 to support the Class Teachers at Riverside Primary School across the Key Stages from Foundation Stage to Year 6. This role may involve working with a class, supporting on a more intensive basis by providing 1-1 support to children with SEN or supporting challenging and complex children within the specialist provision. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager. This is a fixed term position until July 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching support in small groups and where
necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
- Assist the implementation of individual programmes
for pupils and help monitor their progress
- Undertake specific duties identified by the class
teacher
- Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching
Assistant qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards
- Experience supporting
children with Autism and/or Speech and Language difficulties would be advantageous
- Understanding of a
range of behavioural needs, with the ability to support children displaying
challenging behaviour
- Proven experience
contributing effectively to learning in a classroom environment
- Ability to work both
independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong commitment to
helping all children reach their full potential
- Caring, compassionate
nature with genuine regard for children’s wellbeing
- Enthusiastic,
energetic, and adaptable approach to work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
