Salary: Grade 4 (SCP 5–7) Actual Salary £21,977 - £22,681 (FTE £25,583 – £26,403)
Contract: Term Time Only + 5 Additional Days
Hours: 37 hours (flexible working considered)
Location: St Mary’s College
Start Date: As soon as possible subject to clearances

St Mary’s College is seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive General Administrator to play a vital role in supporting our day‑to‑day operations and contributing significantly to the life and mission of our school community.

This post includes a minimum of 2 days dedicated specifically to Chaplaincy, supporting the spiritual, pastoral and community-focused work that lies at the heart of St Mary’s College.


A Unique Opportunity to Support Our Chaplaincy Mission

The Chaplaincy plays an integral role in shaping the culture, ethos and faith life of our college. Your work will help bring to life the values that guide our community.

You will work closely with the Chaplaincy Team to:

  • Coordinate and support liturgies, retreats, charity events and faith‑based activities.
  • Assist with communications, publicity and resources for Chaplaincy initiatives.
  • Organise diaries, bookings, materials and logistics for Chaplaincy events.
  • Serve as a welcoming, supportive point of contact for students, staff and visitors.
  • Help promote the Catholic ethos and inclusive values of St Mary’s College.

This element of the role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about community engagement, student support and helping nurture the spiritual and pastoral life of the school.


General Administrative Responsibilities

Alongside Chaplaincy duties, you will also:

  • Provide high‑quality administrative support within the wider school office.
  • Assist with data management, correspondence and record‑keeping.
  • Support reception, communication and daily school operations.
  • Work flexibly within a busy and friendly administrative team.

  • Can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys working with young people and supporting a values‑led school community.
  • Is confident using IT systems (training will be provided).
