St Mary’s College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our thriving Design and Technology department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, proactive individual who is passionate about supporting high-quality teaching and learning in Hospitality and Catering and Design and Technology.
This post is permanent - term time only - 37 hours week
Key Responsibilities
• Be responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and well-organised food preparation environment.
• Provide practical support for Food lessons, including preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources.
• Support teaching staff during practical sessions and help ensure lessons run smoothly and efficiently.
• Monitor and manage stock levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment.
• Assist with demonstrations, displays, and coursework preparation where required.
• Uphold health and safety standards in line with school and departmental policies.
The Successful Candidate will
• Be well-organised, flexible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Have strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Be confident working in a busy practical environment.
• Ideally have experience in a food, catering, and educational setting (though training can be provided for the right candidate).
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
