About this Role

St Mary’s College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our thriving Design and Technology department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, proactive individual who is passionate about supporting high-quality teaching and learning in Hospitality and Catering and Design and Technology.

This post is permanent - term time only - 37 hours week


Key Responsibilities

Be responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic, and well-organised food preparation environment.

Provide practical support for Food lessons, including preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources.

Support teaching staff during practical sessions and help ensure lessons run smoothly and efficiently.

Monitor and manage stock levels, order supplies, and maintain equipment.

Assist with demonstrations, displays, and coursework preparation where required.

Uphold health and safety standards in line with school and departmental policies.


The Successful Candidate will

Be well-organised, flexible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. 

Have strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail. 

Be confident working in a busy practical environment. 

Ideally have experience in a food, catering, and educational setting (though training can be provided for the right candidate).

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
