Larkmead school is seeking to appoint a Deputy Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (Deputy SENCO), to help support our inclusion team, working closely with our SENCO. This role is a 0.8 FTE position will attract a TLR 2c.
Our Learning Support department is a welcoming, safe space that provides students with SEND a comfortable place to use throughout the school day. The Learning Support team consists of well-trained, conscientious and dedicated staff members who respond effectively to student needs and are able to adapt to suit all learners.
For students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we work hard to build strong relationships with local schools and families to ensure smooth transitions at key curriculum points and a consistent, child centred approach to the support they receive.
The Deputy SENCO is responsible for supporting the SENCO
in leading the provision and outcomes for all students in the school with
special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
We are looking for applicants with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND and who can translate this into dynamic and practical action to develop and implement systems that ensure this support is in place.
The successful candidate(s) will work closely with students, families, teaching and support staff to ensure that the provision for our young people is holistic and completely collaborative.
