About this Role

We are seeking to recruit inspiring Cover Supervisors to join our enthusiastic and professional team for 30 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity to directly support students and staff at Larkmead and to enhance the learning outcomes for our student body.

The successful applicant will have high expectations of all students and be committed to raising educational achievement in classes across both the curriculum and academic years. Flexibility is key as the daily role is a reactive one requiring you to move to where need is greatest.

Training will be given but it would be an advantage to have classroom experience hence the role would suit an existing Teaching Assistant looking to expand and develop their career within education or a graduate considering a future in Teaching.  Ideally the post holders will be able to work 5 days per week 8.30am – 3.15pm with 45 minute unpaid rest break each day. However part-time working patterns will also be considered.

Larkmead School and The Vale Academy Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism.  We expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  All post holders in regulated activity are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory “Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Check. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online searches for publicly available information.

The Vale Academy Trust is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from a range of backgrounds to represent diversity in line with our schools’ community.

All staff will be expected to promote fundamental British values as part of a school that values diversity and individuality, exemplified in our values of ‘one community, individual minds, creating futures.’
