At Churchfield CE Academy we are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for 25 hours a week. We are seeking to appoint an individual to support children with both learning and social and emotional needs. Ideally the candidate should have Level 3 training (Level 2 will be considered for the right candidate). Experience of working with children with special educational needs is desirable but this is not essential as training can be provided.
We would like our candidate to be:
· Nurturing
· Supportive
· A team player
· Able to communicate with parents
· Firm but fair
We can offer:
· An approachable and supportive teaching team
· Opportunities for professional development at all levels
· Warm and friendly staff, pupils and parents
· The occasional bit of cake!
You will be working in a supportive and nurturing environment, alongside a strong team of professionals to support children to meet their age expectations.
Our school is growing and moving forward and there may be future posts available. Experience of working with children with special educational needs would be a significant advantage.
Our pupils' needs include:
· Social, emotional and mental health needs (including behavioural needs)
· Social communication difficulties such as autism
· Learning difficulties
We will provide necessary training and you will be closely supported by our SENDCo and the rest of the team.
We are a nurturing and friendly school who care passionately about our children and our staff. We continue to have high expectations and are working hard to move practice forward. You will need to bring enthusiasm, hard work and determination and we will return to you a supportive environment, kind children and the occasional biscuit and cake!
We are absolutely determined to find the perfect person for this post. As such, the SLT and The Trust reserve the right to take up references and conduct interviews before the closing date.
With the exception of the Redundancy Payments Modification Order which applies, for the purposes of occupational entitlements, for example to sick pay or maternity pay, the Trust does not recognise continuous or aggregated service with other academy trusts or with local authorities.
‘The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Criminal Records Bureau”.
