Situated in Wavertree, Liverpool, King’s Phoenix is a dynamic alternative provision school serving a vibrant cohort of students aged 11-16, many of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our mission is rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student to achieve and thrive.

King’s Phoenix is part of Great Schools Trust, ranked No. 2 nationally for most improved multi-academy trust. Our schools don’t just deliver academic excellence – they transform lives. With dedicated weekly CPD time, access to leading leadership programmes and a trust-wide commitment to work-life balance, this is a place where both students and teachers thrive.

About The Role

This is a key role within King’s Phoenix, supporting some of the city’s most vulnerable young people to attend, engage and succeed in education. You will play a central part in improving life chances by combining high-quality pastoral support with a strong focus on attendance.

You will build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff, using data to identify concerns and implement targeted interventions to improve attendance and wellbeing. You will also support safeguarding processes where required and work collaboratively to remove barriers to engagement.

This is a rewarding, high-impact role where you will make a tangible difference to pupils’ outcomes every day.

What We’re Looking For

  • A compassionate and resilient practitioner with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils
  • Experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational or support setting
  • Confident in building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Able to use data effectively to identify concerns and drive targeted interventions
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment

Why Join Us?

  • Reduce workload with our AI-powered assessment platform, freeing up time for impactful teaching
  • Comprehensive CPD with weekly professional development and leadership link meetings
  • State-of-the-art facilities with a new school building
  • Career growth opportunities within a thriving multi-academy trust
  • Excellent benefits, including a competitive salary, pension scheme, BUPA Employee Assistance Programme, and flexible working options
