About this Role

Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy Company are looking to recruit a Classroom Teacher - Special Educational Needs Cordinator (SENCo). This is a maternity cover position, 2 days per week, based at both St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Evesham and Broadway

The successful candidate will:
  • Determine the strategic development of Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision within the school.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and the coordination of specific provisions to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents, and other agencies.
  • Be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).
  • Oversee the provision for pupils with SEN or a disability, while recognising that class teachers remain responsible for the day-to-day education and support of pupils within their classroom.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum, and schemes of work.
  • Provide strategic direction for subject teaching, ensuring balance, breadth, consistency, continuity, and progression throughout the school.
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
  • Promote good progress and positive outcomes for pupils.
  • Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge.
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests.
  • Monitor learning and teaching and report on standards to the headteacher.
