About this Role

Fixed term to 31st August 2027. Full time, Monday - Friday.

We are pleased to offer an exciting fixed-term opportunity through to August 2027 for an Assistant Headteacher / SENDCo at Rossett Acre Primary School, open to both internal and external applicants.

This leadership position carries strategic responsibility for SEND and offers the opportunity to work within a highly supportive and collaborative team alongside a community of wonderful children. The school benefits from a strong network of expertise where colleagues work closely together to share best practice and ensure the highest quality provision for all pupils.

The role is structured to enable both leadership and classroom impact, with three days per week dedicated to out-of-class strategic leadership of SEND. This includes overseeing provision, supporting staff, monitoring progress and working in partnership with families and external agencies. The remaining two days involve teaching a Year 3 class, providing the opportunity to maintain a strong presence in the classroom and model high-quality inclusive practice.

This balance ensures the successful candidate can drive forward SEND provision across the school while remaining actively engaged in teaching and learning.
