About this Role

We are seeking a values-driven, outward-facing Deputy Headteacher to join the leadership team of this successful and happy school within our Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to play a key role in shaping and delivering our shared Trust mission of ‘Nurturing ambition, delivering excellence and enriching children’s lives’.

Our community of Headteachers and leaders within our Trust support each other brilliantly and, with the backing of a strong and expert central team, make our Trust a great place to work. Red Kite Learning Trust is a community of 16 schools across Harrogate and Leeds, big enough to make a difference but small enough to ensure every school has a voice and influence over our future.

Rossett Acre Primary is a school with a strong performance record, with an Ofsted rating of Good overall effectiveness, with Outstanding for Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development (June 2022). We are an oversubscribed school with an excellent reputation across the local community. As Deputy Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher and colleagues across our Trust, benefiting from system-wide school improvement expertise, collaborative professional development, and leadership networks.

Working closely with the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher will provide ethical, compassionate, and confident leadership, with a particular focus on curriculum, teaching and assessment, ensuring every child receives an outstanding education.

Choose this role if you:

  • Have successful leadership experience and the ability to inspire and develop others
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and school improvement
  • Are committed to high standards, inclusion and removing barriers to learning
  • Have experience of leading teams, managing performance and delivering impactful CPD
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and external partners
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Here is what you can expect when you join us:

  • Support from a strong, values-led Trust, committed to collaboration and improvement
  • The opportunity to shape and lead curriculum, teaching and assessment across the school
  • Access to high-quality professional development, leadership support and peer networks
  • A community that puts children first and has a goal to connect, develop and empower all colleagues to excel and enjoy work
