About this Role

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School is looking to appoint a temporary Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a term time only basis, working 21 hours per week.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to enhance the educational experience of all pupils. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, a proactive attitude, and a passion for helping students thrive academically and personally.

You will take on a range of responsibilities, including planning and delivering learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff, providing targeted support to individuals and small groups, and occasionally covering whole classes. Your work will help ensure continuity of learning and contribute to raising pupil achievement.

In addition to supporting students, you’ll also assist with assessment, classroom management, and the development of learning resources. Your ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents will be essential in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ progress while developing your own professional skills within a collaborative school community.

We can offer:

  • Generous 27 days annual leave entitlement, rising to 32 days after 5 years service
  • The opportunity to be part of a dynamic and successful team
  • Access to Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Flexible working patterns
