About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant and transition into Wraparound Care Leader for after-school provision. 
 This role may be attractive to those who have attained the Level 3 standard, either through achieving the relevant qualification or by having equivalent experience.
Under the guidance of others, the Level 3 Teaching Assistant will:
Support the teacher by assisting with lesson plans and evaluating/adjusting lesson/work plans as appropriate
Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning, including pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required.   
Establish good relationships with pupils, providing relevant pastoral support, and acting as a role model and responding appropriately to individual needs.
Monitor, evaluate and record pupil progress and response to learning activities through observation
Administer and assess routine tests and invigilate exams, undertaking routine marking of pupils’ work as directed by the teacher
Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and to engage in all activities 
Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs; promoting independence and employing strategies to recognise and reward. 
Receive and supervise pupils excluded from or otherwise not working to a normal timetable.
Provide appropriate feedback to pupils relating to their progress and achievement.
Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Teach whole classes short term as and when required.
Modelling and promoting positive values, attitudes and behaviour.
Having a willingness to be fully involved in the life of the academy.
The successful applicant whilst undertaking the Wraparound Care Lead role will be required to: - 
Subject to appropriate training you are required to deliver the wraparound programme in the outdoor environment
Prepare / store snacks
Building positive relationships with all parents/carers, communicating clearly with them, encouraging participate in their child’s progress and development
To contribute to a safe, stimulating and attractive environment
To liaise with parents/carers regarding bookings 
To settle in new children and provide ongoing support for them and their families, through a Key Person approach. To interact positively and enthusiastically with children, considering their individual needs
To provide a friendly, caring and relaxed environment to promote and develop children’s learning
To contribute to planning and resourcing a stimulating, purposeful environment that supports learning both indoors and outdoors
To be an excellent role model for children, parents and other staff, displaying a positive and professional attitude 
To ensure that the highest standards of safety, security, hygiene and cleanliness are always operated within the setting
The facilities at Aughton will allow the programme to include outdoor woodland provision with full practitioner training. We are fortunate to have this resource on site and our curriculum and personal development offer is centred around child interests and outdoor learning, which we would be able to extend through our wraparound care.

The role is based at Aughton Primary Academy but may, on occasion, involve working at other academies within the trust.
